The importance of FutureScape events in the landscape calendar is well recognised across the industry. This month, FutureScape Spring 2022 will be launching its Seminar Programme, always an eagerly-awaited element and one of the main reasons the expected 1000+ visitors will descend on Sandown Park on Tuesday 15 March 2022.
Keynote Speaker: Professor Alistair Griffiths, Director of Science and Collections, Royal Horticultural Society
“I’m championing the relationship between gardening and health and wellbeing, and have implemented the five-year science strategy to guide RHS activities, raise awareness of gardeners’ environmental responsibilities and improve plant knowledge, plant health and human wellbeing.”
Leading proceedings this year will be Professor Alistair Griffiths, delivering his Keynote Speech alongside 40 other landscape, horticulture, design, supply and maintenance professionals.
Alistair leads the RHS’s highly skilled team of scientists focused on assimilating, evaluating and sharing the most current scientific knowledge and undertaking scientific research to provide high-quality, evidence-based solutions to address horticultural challenges. Prior to joining the RHS, Alistaire was a key player in using horticulture science to create the award-winning Eden Project, spending a decade there as Head Scientist.
Exploring how gardens, gardening and growing garden plants (indoors or out) can help improve the wellbeing of people, he is co-author of Your Wellbeing Garden: How to Make Your Garden Good for You – Science, Design, and Practice.
His ambitions mirror those of FutureScape Spring 2022 and in particular he is looking to build a more resilient gardening community, one that takes positive action to benefit the planet and to maximise the health of our nation.
40 panellists and speakers with first-hand experience of the issues faced in UK landscaping day-to-day, project-to-project will appear alongside 75+ exhibitors and 1000+ visitors at the free-to-attend FutureScape Spring event at Sandown Park Racecourse on Tuesday 15 March 2022.
