Healthy Growth for Your Landscape Network at FutureScape

Healthy Growth for Your Landscape Network at FutureScape

Strong roots, space to branch out, room to grow…

Never has networking been more important for business, strategic and personal development. At every FutureScape event, the community buzz that starts to build from the second you step off the tube, shut the van door or walk through the registration area is immense!

The FutureScape event is talked about all year round and anticipated with eagerness by everyone in the UK landscaping family, such is the value of it for generating interest, leads and future prospects.

So, how should you make best use of this once-in-a-landscape-year opportunity to network with thousands of landscaping professionals and hundreds of exhibiting companies?

Be prepared

The FutureScape Show Guide, the FutureScape website and the #FutureScape2023 socials will give you a steer on the exhibitors, seminar programme and live demos.  Consider making a checklist of your absolute must-sees, your nice-to-meets and your catch-along-the-ways.

Set a goal

Perhaps you are looking to advance your career, or maybe source from new suppliers? It might be that you are looking to forge new partnerships or carve a new niche for your business.  Make sure you have a clear idea of what you aim to achieve, check out the timings for the most relevant seminars and make appointments with colleagues, customers and suppliers throughout the 2-day event.

Talk AND listen

You’ve got to talk to people – but you’ve also got to listen!  The seminars will be a really useful source of new intelligence, and you will gain some interesting insight as a listener, a participant or even just by the conversations you may start with the person next to you in the audience. It is all about connecting.

Make a note

A scribble on your Show Guide or a digital note for reference will go a long way in focusing your visit to FutureScape.  Whether it is that paving supplier who offered you a better volume discount than your current source, or the people at BALI, APL, the HTA, the LI or SGD who gave you some useful links for support and resources – keep notes and that will help you evaluate everything you have seen and discussed… AND will help you.

Follow up

You have managed your time well; you have made those connections; you have spent quality time with colleagues and collaborators and have come away from FutureScape armed with leads, renewed vigour and ideas galore.  So do not forget to make them COUNT! Validate and follow–up with the people and companies, connect with them on LinkedIn, call them and fine-tune the agreements you discussed. The circle of FutureScape is complete!
