Oliver Hemson
In 2013, after many years in the trade, Oliver wrapped up his own domestic landscaping business and joined Tony Benger Landscaping as a Commercial Contracts Manager.
Supported by the company’s dynamic approach to growth and development, and with some growing, diligent teams on the ground, Oliver was able to oversee the growth of the Commercial Department which now homes 4 contract managers, 2 full-time estimators, and admin support.
In early 2020, Oliver began coaching his replacement as he stepped up to fill a General Management role. In this position, he describes feeling he has come full circle as his studies in human behaviour, management and leadership come into play on a daily basis; “It’s all about our people and our culture, we can’t build a business for the future without getting that right. One thing I’m working on right now is trying to get people on board with admitting mistakes openly. If we can do that, stop it being taboo, then we can create a learning environment and 150 people all learning together every day – that’s a strong company which will manage any diversity.”
With the support of a great team Oliver has navigated the company through ISO9001 & NHSS18 this year which will open the doors for some exciting & challenging projects in the future.
