Malcolm Catlin
Malcolm Catlin has worked in horticulture for the last 33 years, including running a mail order plant business, in commercial and technical roles for suppliers of plants to retailers and, for the last 8 years, as a consultant providing advice and support on product sourcing & selection, compliance standards, growing media, sustainability reporting & governance, and plant health procedures. During this time, he has travelled extensively in the UK and EU visiting growers of a wide range of ornamental plants.
He joined Plant Healthy in May 2024. He was attracted to the role by a belief that the vast majority of people working in horticulture want to do the right thing, but often find access to clear information on plant health risks - and the associated rules - difficult.
He is Chair of the Eastern Branch of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, a Fellow of the Linnean Society and an associate partner of a Dutch consultancy group.
