Helen Waddington is Director of Services at Perennial, where she has helped shape the people-centred support the charity is known for today. Since joining the organisation in 2001, she has played a leading role in developing services that deliver long term impact for those people working in horticulture across the UK. 

Working closely with the horticultural industry and stakeholders across the industry, Helen helps shape Perennial’s future and extend its reach and impact. She is deeply committed to championing the charity’s work and to improving the wellbeing of horticulturists, driven by a belief that timely, holistic support can make all the difference. 

Before joining Perennial, Helen built her career in the advice sector, working across central and local government in areas including employment, disability, welfare benefits, support for self-employed people, and refugee services. With family roots in horticulture, she brings not only wide-ranging expertise but also a personal connection to the industry and a deep understanding of the people at its heart.
