Illuminating Excellence at 66 Shoe Lane
)
When Landform Consultants were tasked with redeveloping the prestigious public space at 66 Shoe Lane—nestled between Deloitte’s head offices in central London—they reached out directly to me at KG Electrical Contractors. They knew exactly who to trust for delivering innovative vision alongside meticulous precision in landscape lighting.
At KG Electrical, my approach went beyond simply installing the lighting; I personally led the design and specification process, ensuring every detail was perfectly aligned with functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. One standout feature I introduced was the captivating "starry walkway," achieved through intricately designed fibre-optic lighting seamlessly integrated into the paving. This unique element turns a functional pathway into a memorable experience, drawing visitors effortlessly through the space.
Throughout the project, I worked closely alongside other specialist partners, carefully integrating the lighting with their broader design vision. My goal was to ensure each lighting element highlighted the beautifully landscaped terraces, bespoke timber seating, and vibrant planting. Selecting the right fixtures allowed us to create distinct visual layers—softly illuminating seating areas, enhancing intricate wooden details, and gently accentuating lush greenery. The end result is a welcoming and visually engaging environment enjoyed by Deloitte employees and passers-by alike.
What particularly sets this project apart is the innovative integration of multiple lighting types, including discreet LED uplighters, carefully concealed strip lights, and subtle accent fittings, each chosen for their quality, longevity, and low energy consumption. Achieving a balance between impactful aesthetics and sustainable energy use was a key part of the brief, and something I took great pride in delivering.
Though this high-profile urban scheme showcases my capabilities on a large scale, at KG Electrical, I bring the same level of detailed attention and creative flair to every project—whether it's a small domestic courtyard or an expansive private garden. My dedication to quality and innovative solutions remains consistent, regardless of project size. I enjoy collaborating with garden designers and homeowners alike to achieve outstanding results, tailored to each unique space and requirement.
This autumn, I'm excited to share my expertise firsthand at Futurescape in October. Visitors will have the chance to discuss lighting possibilities with me directly, exploring how thoughtful illumination can enhance spaces both large and small.
