Highly experienced and tenacious manager, with a 23 year demonstrable track record of delivering success within listed landscapes, public parks and urban green spaces for the National Trust, Social Housing sector, municipal council as well as district, parish and borough settings.
Serving as the lead officer within Greater Manchester for all social housing providers connected to the management of our Blue and Green assets. Bringing together city wide strategies and stakeholders from both the housing sector and the environmental sector for the first time within the region, creating a network of professionals. In turn creating pioneering approaches to delivery, policy, opportunities, research and obtaining the first Green Flag Award within the Social Housing setting within the North and only the second within the country.
Worked closely with Manchester University and the Mayors team in the delivery of the 1st Green Summit within Greater Manchester. Leading on one of the four main lead in 'listening events' with examples developed in this event being reflected in the new Strategy for the City Region.
Whilst working for Manchester City Councils Parks Department I have worked as major events lead which has included the reforming of the Stone Roses concert at Heaton Park. 79'999 capacity per night.
Guest lecturer at Manchester University for both future planners and environmental managers.
Sitting on the Chief Executives Climate Emergency Board for Adur and Worthing Council as part of their declaration of a Climate Emergency. Creating new approaches to work, challenging practice, structure, red tape and process to ensure that our work is embedded into all aspects of practice within the Councils.
General Manager of a Grade 1 listed garden, ancient woodland and parkland within Sheffield Park and Garden. Leading the way for the National Trust on our scientific approach into the impacts of Climate Change within our landscape. Influencing policy and procedure with a longer term view of landscape scale change.
Volunteer judge for both national and international Green Flag Award with invites to Buckingham Palace for ‘services for the environment’
