Tyler Grange
Balancing the needs of people and planet for your development projects.
Tyler Grange is a certified B Corp and a gold-accredited four-day week environmental consultancy specialising in arboriculture, ecology and landscape planning. It works with UK leading architects, planners, housebuilders, and developers to ensure that projects are delivered with optimal benefits to people and the environment.
The firm is also a member of the Better Business Network, supports the Better Business Act and is an accredited Living Wage employer. It has an employee head count of over 80, and seven UK offices located in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Exeter, Cardiff and Cirencester, in the Cotswolds. Tyler Grange has recently been recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 and named SME Employer of the Year at the InsideOut Awards, in recognition and celebration of its excellence in promoting mental health, wellness, and overall employee wellbeing.
The company’s culture is very cohesive, focussing on support – colleagues support each other, employers support employees and the business supports its clients, customers, and the wider community.
Tyler Grange has always been committed to ESG and believes that development is a key source of social mobility – to level-up communities across the country. Development is required for social change, and it must be done well.
Since becoming a four-day week certified B Corp, in terms of client diversification, sales data shows that Tyler Grange saw a 30% increase in renewable energy projects, including 25 new clients that work in the renewable energy sector. In financial terms, this represented £1million in diversification turnover.
A key area of growth for the firm is Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), which has transformed the property sector, as it presents significant financial and logistical implications for developers. Innovative and pioneering Tyler Grange is at the forefront of this mandatory new regime – not only leading on major development projects but speaking at many events, and delivering its own CPD sessions, to educate industry colleagues and partners on the topic.
The Adlington Estate, a private landholding in Cheshire, is one of them. Tyler Grange pioneered and led on the use of the Estate to create off-site Biodiversity Units for development projects. Delivering this landmark scheme – no other company could provide off-site BNG in 2023 – Tyler Grange provided a viable solution that has facilitated further development in the borough. Without it, further development across the country would undoubtedly have been delayed. The scheme’s success gathered significant attention, resulting in Tyler Grange now working with other landowners to deliver even more off-site Biodiversity Units for development projects across the UK.
